Now Playing + iTunes 7.7

I've been receiving reports lately from users saying they're having trouble getting the Now Playing gadget to recognise songs they're playing in the new iTunes. I've personally tested NP on my laptop (which has never had iTunes installed before) and it works fine. If anyone else has iTunes 7.7 working with Now Playing could you drop a comment to let me know.

If users are still having trouble I recommend repairing or uninstalling/re-installing your iTunes installation as this has fixed issues in the past when other iTunes updates appear to have broken compatibility with the gadget

My seems to be working on and off with iTunes 7.7. Sometimes it will continue to update, sometimes it will forget and just stay on one cover. Restarting the gadget usually fixes it.

Works fine for me. Latest iTunes, 7.7.1, latest Now Playing.

Running Windows XP Pro 32-bit if that helps at all.

I also have a problem getting it to work on itunes. I can click the Now Playing icon to launch itunes but when the song plays, nothing happens. I have the itunes library in the public folder.

I am using iTunes 8 and I can get the art and song info to change when i use the player back and forward buttons on the gadget itself, but when i use the iTunes toolbar in the taskbar to go back and forward it doesn't change the song info in the gadget.
