Now Playing Update - 3.2.4

  • Feature: Close button for iTunes so you don't get that annoying message asking if you want to quit.
  • Fix: Play/Pause for Winamp wont restart Winamp

Refer to the earlier post for the rest

If you are having problems with the gadget just saying "Play a song" (on WMP), it used to work but doesn't anymore

1) Start WMP11
2) Click on Tools>Plug-Ins>Options
3) Choose Background
4) Tick/Select uICE WMP Plug-in
6) Apply the changes

Every time WMP crashes it will disabled all the plug-ins, that's probably what happened.

Not working with WMP... Clicking on the icon says "Notice:Play a SongIn WMP", suggesting it's detected WMP is open, but not playing anything...? Plugin is enabled... Is there an update WMP plugin or can I reinstall the plugin incase it's been corrupted?

I think this gadget it great, no doubt you put a lot of work into this.

I was wondering if there is a way I can use it with Songbird?

It won't work with songbird currently and their documentation is pretty confusing so i won't be adding support in the near future.

I think I'm having the same problem kit mentioned above. I've installed and re-installed multiple times, and now I've deleted the settings file you mentioned, but the gadget always just sits there in "icon" mode (ie. only showing the large icon that looks similar to the WMP icon), no matter how many tracks WMP plays. I don't know what changed in 3.2.4, but it only seemed to start happening after I upgraded...

Other than this, I love the gadget - particularly the album art lookup. Good work.

So in WMP, you're both sure you have "uICE WMP Plugin" enabled right? The behaviour you describe is what would happen if that was disabled (which happens if WMP crashes). I can't see why else it would work for some people and not others...

Mine stopped working too, but enabling the uIce plugin fixed the problem here. Couldn't find any documentation of that plugin anywhere. Took a bit of digging to find it.

That fixed it. Thanks.

Perhaps a FAQ on things like this might help?
